The Metallurgical Technician position is responsible for ensuring customer and company metallurgical quality requirements are met and serve as a resource person for employees and customers. In addition, facilitate the process of continuous improvement on the shop floor.
Performance Expectations
- Metallurgical sample preparation and measurement of micro and macro hardness characteristics.
- Evaluation of material microstructures before and after heat treatment.
- Keeping records of measurements in order.
- MPI –samples and performs contamination test.
- Keeping equipment and laboratory in working order.
- Delegate tasks and provide information and guidance to staff members under their supervision.
- Evaluate the quality of raw material test samples and field data in order to recommend adjustments.
- Additional duties in the laboratory and on the shop floor assigned as needed.
